Yale University Art Museum

The Yale University Art Gallery, formerly known as the Yale University Art Museum, is a premier art museum located in New Haven, Connecticut. As one of the oldest and largest art museums in the United States, it has a rich history dating back to 1832. Over the years, the museum has undergone several expansions and renovations, with notable additions including the Old Yale Art Gallery building, designed by architect Egerton Swartwout, and the modernist building designed by architect Louis Kahn, which opened in 1953. The most recent renovation and expansion, completed in 2012, added 36,000 square feet of exhibition space and restored the historic buildings to their original grandeur.
